Dr. Amy Bogardus

Dr. Amy Bogardus

Amy Bogardus, DMD, was born in Pikeville, Kentucky, and has lived in Kentucky most of her life. After graduating from Jessamine County High School in 1986, she earned a B.A. in psychology from Transylvania University in Lexington, Kentucky in 1990 and her D.M.D. from the University of Kentucky College of Dentistry in 1994. Dr. Bogardus underwent specialty training in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery from 1994 to 1998 at the University of Oklahoma in Oklahoma City, before moving back to Kentucky to practice oral surgery in Danville.

She has been in private practice there since 1998, as well as serving as a voluntary part-time faculty member at the University of Kentucky College of Dentistry. Dr. Bogardus has privileges at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center in Danville, Fort Logan Hospital in Stanford, Haggin Hospital in Harrodsburg, and at the University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington. She enjoys practicing the full scope of oral and maxillofacial surgery, especially extraction of third molars and placement of dental implants.

Dr. Bogardus is Board Certified, a diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and the American Dental Board of Anesthesiology. She is also an active member of the Kentucky Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, the American Dental Association, the Bluegrass Dental Society, the American College of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, and Omicron Kappa Upsilon, Delta Epsilon Chapter.

In her spare time, Dr. Bogardus has also earned a private pilot license and enjoys flying, gardening, reading and travel.
