Oral and maxillofacial surgery requires additional years of hospital-based surgical and anesthesia training after graduation from dental school. Dr. Bogardus and Dr. Kolasa, as oral and maxillofacial surgeons, manage a wide variety of problems relating to the mouth, teeth, and facial regions. Drs. Bogardus and Kolasa practice a full scope of oral and maxillofacial surgery with expertise ranging from dental implant surgery and wisdom tooth removal to corrective jaw surgery. This also includes techniques designed to rebuild bone structure with minimal surgical intervention and optimal patient comfort. Our doctors can also diagnose and treat facial pain, facial injuries, and fractures.

Our staff is trained in assisting with Intravenous (IV) sedation and outpatient general anesthesia in our state-of-the-art office setting. Patients are continuously monitored during and after surgery.

Staff

The surgical staff team here at DOMS is comprised of experienced nurses and maxillofacial surgical assistants. They are knowledgeable and proficient in all aspects of oral and maxillofacial care, and assist in the administration of IV sedation and surgery. To ensure the best quality of care is provided by our team, all of our surgical team is required to become certified in ACLS, PALS, and BLS.

The clerical team here at DOMS includes several teammates with over a decade of service here in our office. They are informed and professional administrative personnel, and are well-versed in health and insurance policies. Like our surgical team, we also require CPR certification for our clerical team.

When choosing DOMS staff to provide care, patients and their families can rest assured that their safety, comfort, education, and overall well-being are our top priority.
